New Improvements in the 2019 Building Earthquake Code of Turkey

Abstract
Turkey has official earthquake code since 1940, and it is renewed at regular intervals in view of both the developments in earthquake engineering and in line with social needs. 2019 Building Earthquake Code of Turkey has improved the previous version published in 2007 by expanding its coverage. The most important improvements are the site specific earthquake hazard definition as well as earthquake design of tall buildings, seismic isolation and piled foundations. Non-linear analysis methods are used as mandatory for performance evaluation in some special cases. In addition, a design supervision system has been formed for non-standard practice and special applications that require expertise.
Özet
Türkiye 1940’dan beri resmi olarak bir Deprem Yönetmeliği’ne sahiptir ve Yönetmelik gerek deprem mühendisliğindeki gelişmeler, gerekse toplumsal gereksinimler doğrultusunda belirli aralıklarla yenilenmektedir. 2019 Türkiye Bina Deprem Yönetmeliği, 2007 Deprem Yönetmeliğini geliştirmiş ve kapsamını genişletmiştir. En önemli gelişmeler sahaya özel deprem tehlikesi tanımı ile yüksek binalar, deprem yalıtımlı binalar ve kazıklı temellerin deprem tasarımıdır. Doğrusal olmayan hesap yöntemleri bazı özel durumlar için performans değerlendirmesi amacıyla zorunlu olarak kullanılmaktadır. Ayrıca standart olmayan ve uzmanlık gerektiren özel uygulamalar için bir tasarım gözetmenliği sistemi oluşturulmuştur.
