Evaluation Of Turkish Natural Stones By Using Geographic Information Systems

Abstract
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a computer system for storing, integrating, analyzing and displaying data which are tied to a geographic location. In this study, an attempt is made to demonstrate a promotion model for Turkish natural stones by using GIS as a tool. To achieve this goal, GIS techniques have been utilized to store, integrate, analyze and display the various physico-mechanical, technological and locational properties of 74 different types of Turkish natural stones.
Özet
Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemleri (CBS) bilgileri coğrafi konumlarıyla birlikte analiz etme, görüntüleme ve aynı zamanda güncelleştirme olanaklarını sağlayan bir bilgisayar sistemidir. Bu çalışmada, CBS yazılımları kullanılarak, Türkiye’nin iç ve dış pazarlarda tanınan 74 farklı türdeki doğal taşın fiziko-mekanik, teknolojik ve coğrafi konumlarına ait bilgileri depolama, sorgulama ve güncelleştirme yapabilen bir tanıtım modeli oluşturulmuştur.
