UNDERSTANDING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN IDEOLOGIES AND LAlClSM

Abstract

Secularism, which has many different meanings, also has different definitions, descriptions and practices according to ideologies. There is a close connection between secularism and the ideology of the individual, society and state. For this reason, ideologies' perspectives on the relationship between religion and state are important. In other words, the definition and application of secularism that dominates the individual, society and the state is important for our subject. In this context, the relationship between liberalism, socialism and conservatism with secularism will be explained. This study will be able to contribute to the analysis of secularism in the world of ideologies by finding the equivalents of secularism to ideologies. Liberalism and Conservatism are almost in agreement with the theory and practice of secularism, while Socialism is completely differentiated in theory and practice. In short, what ideologies think in theory differs from practice in practice. Within this framework, the perspectives of the ideologies within the scope of the study on the relationship between religion and state were examined and the scope and limits of this relationship were tried to be determined.

Birçok farklı anlamı olan laiklik, ideolojilere göre de farklı tanım, betimleme ve uygulamalara sahiptir. Laiklik ile bireyin, toplumun ve devletin sahip olduğu ideoloji arasında çok yakın bir bağ bulunmaktadır. Bu nedenle, ideolojilerin din ve devlet ilişkisine bakış açıları önemlidir. Diğer bir ifadeyle, bireye, topluma ve devlete hakim olan ideolojilerin laiklik tanım ve uygulaması konumuz açısından önemlidir. Bu kapsamda, çalışmada liberalizm, sosyalizm ve muhafazakârlığın laiklik ile ilişkisi açıklanmaya çalışılacaktır. Bu çalışma laiklik kavramının ideolojiler nezdindeki karşılıklarını bularak laikliğin ideolojiler dünyasında doğru analizlerin yapılmasına da katkı sunabilecektir. Liberalizm ve Muhafazakârlık laiklik ile ilgili teori ve pratikte hemen hemen uyuşabilirken, Sosyalizm teori ve pratikte tamamen ayrışmaktadır. Kısaca, ideolojilerin teoride düşündükleri ile pratikteki uygulamaları birbirinden farklılık arz etmektedir. Bu çerçevede çalışma kapsamındaki ideolojilerin din ve devlet ilişkisine bakış açıları incelenerek bu ilişkinin kapsam ve sınırları belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır.
