İlkokul Hayat Bilgisi Ders Kitaplarında Değerler Eğitimi

Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine how and at what level the root values determined by the Ministry of National Education are included in the primary, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade life science textbooks that are accepted as textbooks for 5 years starting from the 2018-2019 academic year. Case study model, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. Data were collected by document analysis technique. The textbooks were simultaneously examined by two class teachers, one researcher and one guidance teacher, through the document review form created by the researcher. As a result of the research, it was concluded that the root values that were included in all textbooks were responsibility (25.3%), friendship (15.9%), respect (15%) and self-control (11.9%), respectively. Root values that are least included in the textbooks are honesty (0.4%), patience (1.9%), justice (2.6%) and helpfulness (5%), respectively. Root values are given mostly through texts in textbooks and least through questions. In addition, it is concluded that root values are indirectly included in textbooks. Based on the findings, it was suggested that the values of justice, honesty, patience and helpfulness should be given more than the root values and the root values should be distributed to all units at every grade level.

Özet

Bu araştırmanın amacı 2018-2019 eğitim öğretim yılından itibaren 5 yıl süre ile ders kitabı olarak kabul edilen ilkokul 1, 2, 3. sınıf hayat bilgisi ders kitaplarında Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı tarafından belirlenen kök değerlerin nasıl ve ne düzeyde yer aldığını incelemektir. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması modeli kullanılmıştır. Veriler doküman inceleme tekniği ile toplanmıştır. Ders kitapları, araştırmacı tarafından oluşturulan doküman inceleme formu aracılığıyla eş zamanlı olarak biri araştırmacı olmak üzere iki sınıf öğretmeni ve bir rehber öğretmen tarafından incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda tüm ders kitaplarında en çok yer verilen kök değerlerin sırasıyla sorumluluk (%25,3), dostluk (%15,9), saygı (%15) ve özdenetim (%11,9) olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ders kitaplarında en az yer verilen kök değerler ise sırasıyla dürüstlük (%0,4), sabır (%1,9), adalet (%2,6) ve yardımseverlik (%5)’tir. Kök değerler ders kitaplarında en fazla metinler aracılığıyla verilirken en az sorular aracılığıyla verilmiştir. Ayrıca kök değerlerin ders kitaplarında daha çok dolaylı olarak yer aldığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara dayanılarak ders kitapları hazırlanırken kök değerlerden adalet, dürüstlük, sabır ve yardımseverlik değerlerine daha çok yer verilmesi ve kök değerlerin her sınıf seviyesinde tüm ünitelere dağılım göstermesi önerilmiştir.
