İzmir Historic Aksek iHan Tiles Certification And Protection Proposal

Abstract

The urban development of İzmir, which has been a long-term homeowner, began to increase since the 17th century and became a tradeand port city with the influence of the industrial revolution in the 18th century and later. Having preserved this vitality until the lastperiod of the Ottoman period, İzmir became a place with great fire during the War of Independence and was reshaped with the understandingof finding a national identity during the Republican period.During the Republican era, many works were exhibited in İzmir with the first national architecture movement. The Akseki Han is one ofthe works bearing the characteristics ofthe movement. The exterior decoration of the building is important for reflecting the OttomanPeriod style. Kütahya tiles were used in the building. In this research I mentioned the characteristic features of Kütahya tiles, the situationof the tiles on the outside of the han was evaluated, problems were identified and suggestions were presented on it.

Özet

Uzun bir tarihe ev sahipliği yapan İzmir’in kentsel gelişimi 17.yüzyıldan itibaren artmaya başlamış, 18. yüzyıl ve sonrasındasanayi devriminin de etkisiyle bir ticaret ve liman kenti olmuştur. Osmanlı’nın son dönemine kadar bu canlılığınıkoruyan İzmir, Kurtuluş Savaşı esnasında büyük yangınla yerle bir olmuş, Cumhuriyet döneminde bir ulusal kimlik bulmaanlayışıyla yeniden şekillendirilmiştir.Cumhuriyet döneminde I. Ulusal Mimarlık Akımıyla İzmir’de birçok eser meydana gelmiştir. Akseki Han da bu akımın özelliklerinitaşıyan eserlerden biridir. Binanın dış süslemesi Osmanlı Dönemi tarzını yansıtması bakımından önemlidir. BinadaKütahya çinileri kullanılmıştır. Bu araştırmada, yapıda karakteristik Kütahya çinilerinin yer aldığı dış cephe panolarındurumu değerlendirilerek, hasar tespit planları oluşturulmuş ve çözüm önerileri sunulmuştur.
