Representing The Great Attack to Children in The Education Period with Pictures: A Storybook Analysis

Abstract

In this study, it is aimed to determine how the Great Offensive, which is an important turning point in the history of Turkey, is conveyed by examining the pictures in a story book prepared for children in the education period. The pictures in the analyzed story book were selected from the qualitative research methods. In document review, an objective and systematic review of written, oral and other materials has been adopted. In the study, 11 pictures were examined in two different groups in terms of color and meaning, and the reliability of the analysis was calculated with the reliability formula of Miles and Huberman (1994). These are at the safe level of 87.87% and 84.84%, respectively. It was determined that 11 different colors were used in the 11 paintings examined and they were preferred for emphasis purposes in different distributions. The results obtained in the study reveal that pictures and colors can be presented to children with different arrangements and that the publishing processes of these contents can be improved.

Özet

Bu çalışmada eğitim öğretim dönemindeki çocuklara yönelik hazırlanan bir masal kitabındaki resimler incelenerek Türkiye tarihinde önemli dönüm noktası niteliğindeki Büyük Taarruz’un nasıl aktarıldığının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. İncelenen masal kitabındaki resimler adına nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden içerik analizi seçilmiştir. İçerik analizi yazılı, sözle ve diğer materyallere yönelik nesnel ve sistematik incelemeyi amaçlayan bilimsel yaklaşımdır. Araştırmada 11 resim renk ve anlam bakımından iki ayrı grupta incelenmiş, incelemenin güvenilirlik hesaplaması Miles ve Huberman (1994) güvenilirlik formülü ile hesaplanmıştır. Bunlar sırası ile % 85,60 ve % 87,87 düzeyinde güvenli seviyededir. İncelenen 11 resimde 11 ayrı renk kullanıldığı ve bunlarında farklı dağılımlarda vurgu amaçlı tercih edildiği belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada elde edilen sonuçlar, resim ve renklerin çocuklara farklı düzenlemeler ile sunulabileceği, bu içeriklerin yayın süreçlerinin geliştirilebileceğini ortaya koymaktadır.
