THE ATTITUDES AND BEHAVIOURS OF ASSOCIATE DEGREE TOURISM STUDENTS TOWARDS THE ENVIRONMENT

Abstract
The aim of this study was to determine the university students' attitudes and behaviors towards environmental. The study was conducted on the students who received education 2016-2017 academic year in fall semester period at the Balıkesir Vocational College Department of Tourism and Hospitality Program. In the research using general screening model, questionnaire form was used as data collection method and totally 113 students were applied. In the analysis of the data, mean, frequency and percent distributions as well as Independent Groups Test and One Way ANOVA were used. According to the findings of the study, it was found that the students' the environmental attitudes were at above average level and environmental behaviors were at a near the average. Finally, it has been determined that the attitudes and behaviors of the students to the environment differ in terms of gender, age, education level of their parents, but other factors do not show any significant difference.
Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, üniversite öğrencilerinin çevreye yönelik tutum ve davranışlarını belirlemektir. Çalışma 2016-2017 eğitim-öğretim yılı Güz döneminde Balıkesir Meslek Yüksekokulu Turizm ve Otelcilik Programında öğrenim gören öğrencilere yönelik olarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Genel tarama modeli kullanılarak yapılan araştırmada, veri toplama yöntemi olarak anket formu kullanılmış ve toplam 113 öğrenciye uygulanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde ortalama, frekans ve yüzde dağılımların yanı sıra, Bağımsız Gruplar t Testi ve Tek Yönlü Varyans Analizi (ANOVA) kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre, öğrencilerin çevresel tutum düzeyleri ortalamanın üzerinde, çevresel davranışları ise ortalamaya yakın düzeyde bulunmuştur. Son olarak, öğrencilerin çevreye ilişkin tutum ve davranışlarının cinsiyet, yaş, ebeveynlerinin eğitim düzeyi bakımından farklılık gösterdiği ancak diğer faktörlerin anlamlı bir farklılık göstermediği saptanmıştır.
