Abstract

Archetypal criticism is a work-oriented literary theory that progresses based on the analytic psychosis of Carl Gustav Jung and sees literature as the expression of archetypal symbols. According to Jung, archetypes are the basis of the psyche concept. Archetypes reveal themselves through the symbol language. The theorist must master the grammar of these symbols. Shortly before Jung, James G. Frazer, and after him, researchers such as Joseph Campbell, Northop Frye, and Mircae Eliade have presented the way to do this with their inspiring works. In this study, it will be focused on what archetypal criticism is and its first sources within the framework of the works of the mentioned researchers.

Özet

Arketipsel eleştiri, Carl Gustav Jung’un analitik psikolojisine bağlı olarak gelişen,edebiyatı arketipik simgelerin ifadesi olarak gören esere dönük bir edebiyat kuramıdır. Jung’a göre arketipler, psişe binasının temelleridir.
