INVESTIGATION OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS 'ATTITUDES TOWARDS SPORTS

Abstract

The aim of this research is; to determine the attitudes of high school students towards sports. The population of the study consists of the students studying in the high schools in the town of Sorgun in Yozgat in the academic year of 2018-2019. The sample of the study consisted of 282 students who volunteered to participate in the online questionnaire sent by mail from the high school students studying in the Yozgat Sorgun district during the 2018-2019 academic year. Survey method was used in the study. Information on the demographic characteristics of the students was obtained by ‘personal information form. The information about determining the attitudes of the students towards sports was obtained by the attitude scale towards sports developed by Şentürk (2015). The data were transferred to SPSS 18 software program for statistical operations. Before starting the statistical analysis of the data obtained from the research group, the preliminary preparation of the data was made and made available for the analysis. The skewness and skewness coefficients are important in this process. In this study, it was determined that the skewness values of the data obtained in the scale were between -0.728 / -0.913 and the kurtosis values were between 0.136 / -0.498. According to these results, it was determined that the data showed normal distribution and parametric tests were used in statistical analysis.Frequency analysis, percentage analysis, arithmetic mean, t test, Anova analysis and post hoc tests were used to analyze the data. As a result of the analyzes performed; There were statistically significant differences between the attitudes of students towards sports according to gender, class, family sports, family income level and time spent on social media (p 0.05).

Gerçekleştirilen bu araştırmanın amacı; liselerde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin spora yönelik tutumlarını belirlemektir. Araştırmanın evrenini 2018-2019 eğitim-öğretim yılında Yozgat Sorgun ilçesinde liselerde öğrenim gören öğrenciler oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini ise 2018-2019 eğitim-öğretim yılında Yozgat Sorgun ilçesinde öğrenim gören lise öğrencilerinden mail yoluyla gönderilen online anket çalışmasına gönüllü olarak katılım gösteren 282 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada tarama (survey) yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Öğrencilerin demografik özelliklerine (cinsiyet, sınıf, ailede spor yapma durumu, aile gelir düzeyi, haftalık harçlık, sosyal medya kullanma durumu, sosyal medyada geçirilen zaman) ilişkin bilgiler ‘’kişisel bilgi formu’’ ile elde edilmiştir. Öğrencilerin spora yönelik tutumlarını belirlemeye ilişkin bilgiler ise Şentürk (2015) tarafından geliştirilen spora yönelik tutum ölçeği ile elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler istatistiki işlemler için SPSS 18 yazılım programına aktarılmıştır. Araştırma grubundan elde edilen verilerin istatistiksel analizlerine başlamadan önce verilerin ön hazırlığı yapılmış ve analizlere uygun hale getirilmiştir. Basıklık ve çarpıklık katsayıları bu süreçte önemlidir. Yapılan bu araştırmada ölçeğe ilişkin elde edilen verilerin çarpıklık değerlerinin -0.728 / -0.913 arasında, basıklık değerlerinin 0.136 / -0.498 arasında olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu sonuçlara göre verilerin normal dağılım sergilediği belirlenmiş ve istatistiki analizlerde parametrik testler kullanılmıştır.Verilerin çözümlenmesinde frekans analizi, yüzde analizi, aritmetik ortalama, t testi, Anova analizleri ve post hoc testleri kullanılmıştır. Gerçekleştirilen analizler sonucunda; cinsiyet, sınıf, ailede spor yapma durumu, aile gelir düzeyi, sosyal medyada geçirilen zaman değişkenlerine göre öğrencilerin spora yönelik tutumları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklar bulunmuştur (p 0.05).
