A SOCIAL WELFARE STATE FROM A LIBERAL PERSPECTIVE

Abstract

The welfare state has been subject to constant debate within the development process. Different interpretations and criticisms from all fields of the ideological spectrum have been directed. In the article, the social welfare state will be dealt with from a liberal perspective. For this, firstly the definition and characteristics of the welfare state were mentioned and then the development process was mentioned. Undoubtedly it would be pointless to interpret the process without knowing its development. In the main discussion, the points of view are examined depending on the different points in the liberal perspective. Accordingly, the criticisms of the social welfare state are mentioned and these are detailed according to the different positions of the liberalization line. A solution from a liberal perspective has been presented and examined.

Özet

Refah devleti, gelişim süreci içerisinde sürekli olarak tartışmalara konu olmuştur. Refah devletine İdeolojik spektrumun her alanından farklı yorumlar ve eleştiriler yöneltilmiştir. Bu makalede ise sosyal refah devleti liberal bir perspektif ile ele alınacaktır. Bunun için ise ilk olarak refah devletinin tanımlanması ve özelliklerine değinilmiş ardından gelişim sürecinden bahsedilmiştir. Kuşkusuz ki gelişimini bilmeden içinde bulunulan süreci yorumlamak manasız olacaktır. Ana tartışmada ise liberal perspektif içerisindeki farklı noktalara bağlı olarak bakış açıları incelenmiştir. Buna bağlı olarak ise sosyal refah devletine yönelik yapılan eleştirilere değinilmiş ve liberalizmin çizgisinin farklı konumlarına göre bunlar detaylandırılmıştır. Liberal bir perspektiften çözüm önerileri sunulmuş ve bunlar incelenmiştir.
