ENDOMETRİUM KARSİNOMLARINDA c-erbB-2 ve p53 EKSPRESYONUNUN PROGNOSTİK PARAMETRELER İLE İLİŞKİSİ

Abstract

Objective: The c-erb-B2 and p53 genes participate in the carcinogenesis of many malignancies, but the role of both genes in endometrial carcinogenesis is not fully elucidated. The aim of the study was to determine the correlation between prognostic parameters with p53 and c-erb-B2 in clinicohistopathological characteristics of the studied endometrial cancers. Material and Methods: 56 cases of endometrioid type endometrial adenocarcinoma diagnosed and treatment at Kartal Teaching and Research Hospital, ‹stanbul, were immunohistochemical studied for tumor suppressor gene p53, and over-expression of oncogene c-erbB-2. The statistical analysis of the results was performed by SPSS version 13. Results: The mean age of the patients was 58.7 years with a range of 43 to 81 years. p53 was positive in 38 cases (67.8%) and negative in 18 cases (32.1 %). c-erbB-2 was positive in 13 cases (23.2 %), mild in 13 cases (23.2 %), moderate in 18 cases (32.1% ), and negative in 12 cases (21.4 %). Giriş: c-erb-B2 ve p53 genleri birçok malignitede karsinogenezise katılmaktadır; fakat endometrial kaarsinogeneziste rolleri tam olarak aydınlanmamıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı; endometrial kanserde prognostik parametrelerle c-erb-B2 ve p53 arasındaki ilişkiyi klinikohistopatolojik karakteristiklerle değerlendirmektir. Materyal ve Metod: Kartal Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi'nde (İstanbul); tanı ve tedavi almış 56 endometrioid tipte endometrial adenokarsinom olgusu immunohistokimyasal olarak tümör supresör gen p53 ve onkogen c-erb-B2 ile çalışılmıştır. Sonuçların istatistiksel analizi SPSS 13 kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Bulgular: Hastaların ortalama yaşı 58;7 (43-81) idi. p53; 38 olguda pozitif (67.8 %) ve 18 olguda negatif (32.1%) idi. c-erb-B2 13 olguda pozitif (23.2 %); hafif boyanma 13 (23.2 %); orta şiddette boyanma 18 olguda (32.1%); 12 olguda (21.4 %) negatifti. Tartışma: Sağ kalım değerlendirmeleri c-erb-B2 pozitifliği veya p53 pozitifliği ile istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ilişki bulunmadığını göstermiştir.
