Malzeme ve Rengin Dili: Mermer Kaplama Tekniği Skoutlosis ile Giydirme

Özet

“Skoutlosis Technique”, began to be applied in Roman period and it became perfection to cover thebuilding with stone plates during the Byzantine period. For this reason, Byzantine architects have studiedthe structures of the stones meticulously in order to give aesthetic appearance to the buildings and theyornemented them with the highest quality decorations. These patterns, which were observed in the ancientbuildings of Istanbul, added a distinct beauty to the building. In this study, the application of skoutlosistechnique and some samples used in some buildings will be mentioned.
