The Discussion of Hāṣıl bi al-Maṣdar in the Focus of Belāgah, Usūl al-Fiqh, Kalām and Philosophy of Language: A Study in the Context of the Work of Emīr Pādishāh

Abstract

This article examines the issue of “hāsıl bi al-maṣdar”, a linguistic problem of meaning. The issue of hāsıl bi al-maṣdar is discussed in the Arabic language, rhetoric, usūl al-fiqh and theological sciences. The issue is discussed in a universe of meaning related to semiotics, semantics, linguistics, and philosophy of language. The research deals with the problem of meaning which is attempted to be based around the issue of hāsıl bi al-maṣdar. In particular, ıt examines the work of Risālah fī bayān al-hāsıl bi almasdar of Emīr Pādishāh al-Bukhārī (d. 987/1579). The study handles the issue as follows. First, it focuses on examining the issue of hāsıl bi al-maṣdar. Later, ıt made an explanation about the life and works of Emīr Pādishāh al-Bukhārī. The article also examines Risālah fī bayān al-hāsıl bi al-masdar. It examines the copies of the work that survived to the present and presents the inquired text of the work. In the part of the investigation, first of all gives the texts in the original language which provides a better understanding of Risālah fī bayān al-hāsıl bi al-masdar and constitutes the context of the work. At this point, Kazvīnī’s (d. 739/1338) Telhīs alMiftāh, Teftāzānī’s (d. 792/1390) al-Mutawwal and Fenârî Zāde Hasan Çelebi’s (d. 891/1486) Hāşiye ‘alā al -Mutawwal adds the relevant parts of the books to the head of the investigative text separately. The research then compares some copies of the work and reveals the inquired text.

Bu makale dilbilimsel bir anlam problemi olan hâsıl bi’l-masdar konusunu irdelemiştir. Hâsıl bi’l-masdar meselesi Arap dili, belâgat, usûl-i fıkıh ve kelâm ilimlerindetartışılmıştır. Mesele gösterge bilim, anlam bilim, semantik, dilbilim ve dil felsefesi ile ilgili bir anlam evreninde ele alınmıştır. Makale konuyu irdelerken genel olarak hâsıl bi’lmasdar meselesi etrafında temellendirilmeye çalışılan anlam problemini incelemiştir. Özel olarak ise Emîr Pâdişâh el-Buhârî’nin (ö. 987/1579) Risâle fî beyâni’l-ḥâsıl bi’lmaṣdar adlı eserini tetkik etmiştir. Çalışma ilk olarak hâsıl bi’l-masdar meselesini irdelemeye odaklanmıştır. Daha sonra Emîr Pâdişâh el-Buhârî’nin hayatı ve eserleri hakkında açıklama yapmıştır. Makale ayrıca Risâle fî beyâni’l-ḥâsıl bi’l-maṣdar adlı eseri incelemiştir. Daha sonra eserin günümüze ulaşan nüshalarını tetkik ederek eserin tahkikli metnini sunmuştur. Tahkikli kısımda öncelikle Risâle fî beyâni’l-ḥâsıl bi’l-maṣdar’ın daha iyi anlaşılmasını sağlayan ve eserin bağlamını oluşturan metinleri orijinal dilinde vermiştir. Bu noktada Kazvînî’nin (ö. 739/1338) Telhîsu’l-Miftâh, Teftâzânî’nin (ö. 792/1390) el-Mutavvel ve Fenârî Zâde Hasan Çelebî’nin (ö. 891/1486) Hâşiye ‘ale’l-Mutavvel adlı kitaplarının konuyla ilgili yerlerini tahkikli metnin baş tarafına ayrıca eklemiştir. Daha sonra eserin bazı nüshalarını karşılaştırarak tahkikli metni ortaya çıkarmıştır.
