An unusual cause of acute chest pain; rib fractures induced by coughing

Abstract
Cough is a common symptom in ambulatory practice and in general does not require specific treatment. Cough induced rib fracture and pneumothorax is a very rare complication. We report a case of a patient with stress fractures of the ribs induced by coughing. Severe coughing and chest pain with a sudden onset should be considered to cough induced rib fracture in emergency department

Öksürük günlük pratikte sık görülen bir semptom olup, genellikle spesifik bir tedavi gerektirmez. Kot fraktürü ve pnömotoraks öksürüğün neden olduğu nadir komplikasyonlardır. Bu yazıda öksürüğün neden olduğu bir kot fraktürü olgusu sunulmuştur. Acil servisde; şiddetli öksürük ve beraberinde ani başlangıçlı bir gögüs ağrısı ayırıcı tanısında, öksürüğün neden olduğu kot fraktürü akla gelmelidir.
