Koca Çınarlar Listen to Individuals With Special Talents: The Sample of Samsun Nursing Home

Abstract

The aim of the study is to contribute to the social development of specially talented young people, starting from the life experiences of the elderly in the nursing home, which enables our cultural values to reach new generations. Thanks to the study, it will be contributed to the elderly people in the nursing home to strengthen and hold on to life. The study is structured with a phenomenal pattern that covers the qualitative approach. The main data collection tool in case studies is interview and observation. “Participant or observation” was preferred due to the nature of the study. The universe of work is a nursing home in the town of Ilkadim, Samsun, and an institution with special skills in the province of Ilkadim, taking into account easy accessibility. In this universe, activities were held with the participation of eight volunteers from nursing home residents and five volunteers from special talented individuals. The study was carried out by visiting volunteers three times with five volunteers with special talents. Researchers were involved in the activity with participant or observation technique. At the events, the data were collected by filling in the sound recording and the observation form at the time of the event, and then deciphered. Qualitative data were analyze during “Descriptive Analysis”. Two main themes have been identified; First, he encounters goodness that does good; The second is friendship and importance. As a result of the study, listening to the life experiences of the elderly in the nursing home caused special talented individuals to rethink the good and bad events. The cultural values conveyed by the elderly about not giving up old and new friendship and goodness have contributed positively to the social development of special talented individuals.

Çalışmanın amacı, kültürel değerlerimizin yeni kuşaklara ulaşmasını sağlayan huzurevindeki yaşlıların yaşam tecrübelerinden hareket ederek özel yetenekli gençlerin sosyal gelişimlerine katkı sağlamaktır. Çalışma sayesinde huzurevindeki yaşlıların “moral” olarak güçlenmelerine ve yaşama tutunmalarına katkı sağlanacaktır. Çalışma nitel yaklaşımı kapsayan olgubilim deseni ile yapılandırılmıştır. Olgubilim araştırmalarında başlıca veri toplama aracı görüşme ve gözlemdir. Çalışmanın yapısı gereği “katılımcı gözlem” tercih edilmiştir. Çalışma evreni kolay ulaşılabilirlik göz önünde bulundurularak Samsun ili İlkadım ilçesindeki bir huzurevi ve Samsun ili İlkadım ilçesinde özel yeteneklilerle eğitim yapan kurumdur. Bu evrende etkinlikler huzurevi sakinlerinden sekiz ve özel yetenekli bireylerden beş gönüllünün katılımıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma gönüllü özel yetenekli beş birey ile üç kere huzurevi ziyaret edilerek yapılmıştır. Araştırmacılar katılımcı gözlem tekniğiyle etkinliğe dâhil olmuştur. Etkinliklerde veriler ses kaydı ve olay anında gözlem formu doldurularak toplanmış daha sonra deşifre edilmiştir. Nitel veriler “Betimsel Analiz” kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. İki ana tema belirlenmiştir; birincisi, iyilik yapan iyilikle karşılaşır; ikincisi ise, arkadaşlık ve önemidir. Çalışma sonucunda huzurevindeki yaşlıların yaşam tecrübelerini dinlemek, özel yetenekli bireylerin yaşadıkları iyi-kötü olayları tekrar düşünmesine neden olmuştur. Yaşlıların eski ve yeni arkadaşlık ve iyilikten vazgeçmeme konusunda aktardığı kültürel değerler özel yetenekli bir eylerin sosyal gelişimlerine olumlu katkı sağlamıştır .
