Examining the Study Behaviors of Special Talented Students

Abstract
The aim of the study is to determine the study behavior levels of gifted students and to examine whether their working behaviors differs according to gender and the type of program. 337 female and 347 male students enrolled in science and art centers in Istanbul participated in the research. The data from the study was collected by using the “Personal Information Form” and the “Study Behavior Evaluation Scale”. Basic level statistics were used in the analysis of the data. In the research, normal level behavior of gifted students in the dimensions of “starting and continuing to study”, “studying consciously and using what you have learned”, “taking notes and listening to the lesson”, “reading habit”, “attitude towards school” and “preparing for and taking exams”. In the dimension of “preparing homework”, it was determined that female students showed positive behavior and male students showed normal behavior.
Özet
Araştırmanın amacı, özel yetenekli öğrencilerin çalışma davranış düzeylerinin belirlenmesi, çalışma davranışlarının cinsiyete ve kayıtlı oldukları program türüne göre farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığının incelenmesidir. Araştırmaya, İstanbul ilinde bulunan bilim ve sanat merkezlerine kayıtlı 337 kadın ve 347 erkek öğrenci katılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri “Kişisel Bilgi Formu” ile “Çalışma Davranışı Değerlendirme Ölçeği” kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde temel düzey istatistikler kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada, özel yetenekli öğrencilerin “çalışmaya başlamak ve sürdürmek”, “bilinçli çalışmak ve öğrendiğini kullanmak”, “not tutmak ve dersi dinlemek”, “okuma alışkanlığı”, “okula karşı tutum” ile “sınavlara hazırlanmak ve sınava girmek” boyutunda normal düzeyde davranış gösterdiği, “ödev hazırlamak” boyutunda ise kadın öğrencilerin olumlu düzeyde, erkek öğrencilerin ise normal düzeyde davranış gösterd iği tespit edilmiştir .
