Abstract

Global outbreaks such as Covid-19 or a pandemic can be interpreted as a disaster. Every crisis disrupts the functioning of ordinary life. In these extraordinary periods, individual psychologists also play a role in determining the urgent psychosocial support needs of people and transitioning to normal life. Crisis periods bring the psychologist out of the closed universe of the client-counselor relationship and cause it to be active outside of his general practice. In this process, the psychologist’s preferences for action and the ethical basis of these actions are related to the existence of the psychologist. The individual psychologist can also choose an existence by preferring utilitarian ethics. Likewise, he can choose a professional existence by choosing deontological ethics. This article discusses how the psychologist’s preferences can affect both himself and society.

Her kriz, olağan hayatın işleyişini sekteye uğratır.
