Prevention of Nosocomial Infections in Medical Intensive Care Units

Abstract
In recent years nosocomial infections appear an important problem especially in intensive care units. Nosocomial infections increase hospitaliza- tion duration, cost, morbidity and mortality rates. However this infections can be prevent by various ways. Nurses that take the most active role in the intensive care units. Therefore nursing care that effective prevention on nosocomial infections in medical intensive care units was reviewed in this article

Son yıllarda özellikle yoğun bakım ünitelerinde önemli bir sorun oluşturan hastane enfeksiyonları yoğun bakımda kalış süresini, maliyeti, morbidite ve mortalite oranlarını artırmalarına karşın çeşitli yöntemlerle önlenebilmektedir. Yoğun bakım üni- telerinde en aktif rol alan meslek grubunu hemşi- reler oluşturmaktadır. Bu nedenle bu makalede dahili yoğun bakım ünitelerindeki nozokomiyal en- feksiyonların önlenmesinde etkili olan hemşirelik girişimleri gözden geçirilmiştir
