EXPRESSION MISTAKES CAUSED BY WRONG OBJECT USAGE IN QURAN TRANSLATIONS

Abstract

Sentences are consisted of a variety of elements such as subjects,verbs and objects. Object is an essential element for the sentencesbuilt up by transitive verbs, because object is the element that isaffected by the verb committed by the subject in a sentence. Whenthere is no object affected by the transitive verb committed by thesubject, there will naturally be a mistake. Besides, there will bedeficiency of meaning in a sentence which doesn’t have an object,and the interlocutor will not completely understand the messagethat is thought to be contained. That kind of wrong expressions,which are regarded as faulty sentences in Turkish, can be seenabundantly in Quran translations. It will be useful to analyzethat kind of expressions, which cause the meaning to be faultyor sketchy in Quran translations, by examples. We hope that theattention of those who may concern will be attracted upon thistopic, thereby paving the way for removing the faulty expressionsthat cause object mistakes from the Quran translations.

Cümleler özne, yüklem, nesne gibi çeşitli öğelerden oluşur. Nesne,geçişli fillerle kurulan cümlelerde bulunması zaruri olan bir öğedir.Zira nesne, cümledeki öznenin işlediği fiilden etkilenen unsurdur.Öznenin işlediği geçişli fiilden etkilenen nesne, cümlede bulunmadığındadoğal olarak eksiklik/hata söz konusu olacaktır. Kaldı kinesne eksikliğinin bulunduğu cümlede anlam da eksik kalacak vemuhatap ifadeye yüklendiği var sayılan mesajı tam olarak anlayamayacaktır.Türkçede, kusurlu/bozuk cümleler olarak kabul edilenbu tür ifadelerin, Kur’ân çevirilerinde bol miktarda bulunduğugörülmektedir. Meallerde bu şekilde anlamın eksik ve kusurlu olmasınaneden olan ifadelerin birkaç örnek üzerinden incelenmesifaydalı olacaktır. Umulur ki ilgililerin dikkatleri, bu konuya çekilmişolur ve böylece nesne yanlışlarının neden olduğu kusurlu anlatımlarınmeallerden ayıklanmasının önü açılmış olur.
