Abstract
The basic elements of economic growth vary according to the economic conditions prevailing in the period and the country. In an underdeveloped country, the agricultural sector plays an active role in economic growth or development, whereas in a developed country, capital is predominantly even today the technology intensive production is the main element of economic growth. From this point of view, the contribution of information and communication technology (ıct) to growth in the turkish economy for the period 1998-2015 will be examined. The unit root test and Granger causality test were applied for economic growth as dependent variable, fixed as independent variable, internet usage by mobile phone usage and internet usage According to the results obtained, the use of ICT positively affects on economic growth.
Özet
Ekonomik büyümenin temel unsuru, döneminde ve ülkede hakim olan ekonomik koşullara göre farklılık göstermektedir. Az gelişmiş olan bir ülkede ekonomik büyüme veya kalkınmada tarım sektörü aktif rol alırken, gelişmiş olan bir ülkede ise sermaye ağırlıklı hatta günümüzde teknoloji yoğun üretim ekonomik büyümenin temel unsur konumundadır. Buradan hareketle 1998-2015 yılları arası dönem için bilgi ve iletişim teknolojilerinin (BİT) Türkiye ekonomisindeki büyümeye olan katkısı incelenecektir. Bağımlı değişken olarak ekonomik büyüme için GSYİH, bağımsız değişken olarak ise sabit ve cep telefonu kullanımı ile internet kullanımı alınarak birim kök testi ve Granger nedensellik testi uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre; BİT kullanımı ekonomik büyümeyi olumlu etkilemektedir.
