In the Light of the Mind Classification of Gardner an Attempted Analysis on Primary Teachers

Abstract
This study aims, within the framework of the quinary mind classification of Gardner, at having a closer look into school teaching as a department and the mind world of our school teachers, and targets at presenting the specified matters to readers with a plain language. Although we hope that the study would make researches, particularly school teachers, think on the meaning and significance of the mentioned mental forms as well as how to develop them in the best way, the audience of the study is even wider. Because the work of improving mind types is, as emphasized by Gardner, not under the liability of researchers and teachers. Everyone is a partner of that responsibility. Therefore, the subject of this study closely concerns every “individual” that has been transformed in qualitative terms due to the rapid change and transformation process we experience in the 21st century as well as to the developments in scientific branches.
Özet
Bu çalışma, Gardner’ın beşli zihin tasnifi çerçevesinde bir bölüm olarak sınıf öğretmenliğine ve sınıf öğretmenlerinin zihin dünyasına yakından bakmayı amaçlamakta ve tespit edilen hususları sade bir dille okuyucuya sunmayı hedeflemektedir. Çalışmada, araştırmacıların ve bilhassa sınıf öğretmenlerinin bahsi geçen zihin formlarının anlamı ve önemi ile en iyi şekilde nasıl geliştirilebileceği hakkında düşünmelerini sağlayacağı umulsa da çalışmanın hitap ettiği kitle daha geniştir. Çünkü zihin tiplerini geliştirme işi, Gardner’ın da vurguladığı gibi, sadece araştırmacıların ve öğretmenlerin sorumluluğunda değildir. Herkes bu sorumluluğun ortağıdır. Bu bakımdan bu çalışmanın konusu, 21.yy’da yaşamakta olduğumuz hızlı değişim ve dönüşüm sürecinin ve bilim dallarındaki gelişmelerin niteliksel anlamda değişime uğrattığı her “birey”i yakından ilgilendirmektedir.
