Exploration of the Relationship Between Educationand Development

Abstract

As a source of human capital, the educational institution serves as the key to economic development by providing qualified workforce. On the other hand, human development positively affects social development by raising the level of living with contributions made by social refinement and life giving. The aim of this study, which is based on the data and information obtained by the literature review, is to examine and evaluate the relationship between education and development in the light of the data related to various countries. For this purpose, the relationship between education and development; the effects of education on development and the indicators of education and development of various countries. As a result of the study, the effect of change by providing the adaptation of the individuals to the changing world, the effect of employment by providing the continuous improvement by raising the qualified labor force, the income effect by bringing higher income to the individuals with higher education level, the effect of the quality of life by improving the technology effect and social life by raising the technology producing brains, it is the result of the source of development. In addition, it is seen that there is a harmonious relationship between educational status and social and economic development levels of the various countries examined by comparing social and economic indicators.

Beşeri sermayenin kaynağı olarak eğitim kurumu, nitelikli işgücü sağlayarak ekonomik kalkınmanın anahtarı işlevini görmektedir. Diğer taraftan insani gelişmeye, sosyal refaha ve hayata yaptığı katkılarla yaşam seviyesini yükselterek sosyal kalkınmayı olumlu etkilemektedir. Literatür taramasıyla elde edilen veri ve bilgileri temel alan bu çalışmanın amacı, eğitim ve kalkınma ilişkisini çeşitli ülkelere ilişkin veriler ışığında incelemek ve değerlendirmektir. Bu amaçla, eğitim ve kalkınma ilişkisi; eğitimin kalkınmaya etkileri ve çeşitli ülkelerin eğitim ve kalkınmaya ilişkin göstergeleri değerlendirilerek incelenmektedir. Çalışma sonucunda, eğitimin; değişen dünyaya bireylerin uyum sağlamasını sağlayarak değişim etkisi, nitelikli işgücünü yetiştirip sürekli gelişimini sağlayarak istihdam etkisi, daha yüksek eğitim seviyesi ile bireylere daha yüksek gelir getirerek gelir etkisi, teknoloji üreten beyinleri yetiştirerek teknoloji etkisi ve sosyal yaşamı geliştirerek yaşam kalitesine etkisiyle kalkınmayı olumlu yönde etkilediği ve hatta kalkınmanın kaynağı olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Ayrıca, sosyal ve ekonomik göstergeleri karşılaştırılarak incelenen çeşitli ülkelerin eğitim durumlarıyla sosyal ve ekonomik gelişmişlik düzeyleri arasında uyumlu bir ilişki olduğu görülmüştür.
