THE APPEARANCE OF HEALTH MANAGEMENT PROCEEDINGS PRESENTED AT THE EUROPEAN HEALTH MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION (EHMA) CONFERENCES

Abstract
This study aims to reveal the general framework of the distribution of subjects of oral and poster presentations presented at conferences organized by EHMA in the last five years. The EHMA conference is one of the most comprehensive and respected international conferences in the field of health management. The research is descriptive. All oral and poster presentations presented at conferences organized by the European Health Management Association (EHMA) between 2014-2018 (last five years) were included in the research. In this study, it was determined that 491 papers were presented in the last five years, 375 of them were oral presentations and 116 of them were poster presentations. It has been identified that the most presented topics in the conferences were “disease and treatment management and patient empowerment” (13.21%), “human resources in health care organizations” (9.46%) and “organizational behavior in health care organizations” (8.65%). The least frequently presented topics in the conferences were “drug policies” (1.31%), “medical device sector” (0.49%) and “health tourism” (0.49%). As this study reveals the recently studied topics in the field of health management, it can be an idea for the students who are searching for topics in master theses, doctoral theses and medical theses, and researchers and academicians working in the field of health management.

Bu araştırmada, son beş yılda EHMA tarafından düzenlenen konferanslarda sunulan sözlü ve poster bildirilerin konu dağılımlarının genel çerçevesini ortaya koymak amaçlanmıştır. EHMA konferansı, sağlık yönetimi alanında uluslararası en kapsamlı ve en saygın konferanslardan biridir. Araştırma, tanımlayıcı niteliktedir. Avrupa Sağlık Yönetimi Birliği (EHMA) tarafından 2014-2018 yılları arasında (son beş yılda) düzenlenen konferanslarda sunulan tüm sözlü ve poster bildiriler araştırma kapsamına dâhil edilmiştir. Bu çalışmada son beş yılda toplamda 491 bildirinin sunulduğu, sunulan bildirilerin 375 tanesinin sözlü bildiri ve 116 tanesinin poster bildiri olduğu belirlenmiştir. Konferanslarda en fazla sunum yapılan konuların “hastalık ve tedavi yönetimi ile hasta güçlendirme” (%13.21), “sağlık kuruluşlarında insan kaynakları” (%9.46) ve “sağlık kuruluşlarında örgütsel davranış” (%8.65) konuları olduğu belirlenmiştir. En az sunum yapılan konuların ise “ilaç politikaları” (%1.31), “tıbbi cihaz sektörü” (%0.49) ve “sağlık turizmi” (%0.49) olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu çalışmanın sağlık yönetimi alanında son dönemde çalışılan konuları ortaya koyması ile yüksek lisans, doktora ve tıpta uzmanlık tezlerinde konu arayışında olan öğrenciler, sağlık yönetimi alanında çalışan araştırmacılar ve akademisyenler için fikir sağlayıcı nitelikte olabileceği söylenebilir.
