Evaluation of Recreational Tourism Potential of Lake Van by SWOT Analysis

Van Gölü’nün Rekreasyonel Turizm Potansiyelinin SWOT Analizi İle Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Water borders are attractive areas for recreational activities. The evaluation of recreational activities in these areas and the presentation of recreational potential are very important for the future of the area. This area used for this purpose. Purpose of the research determine the recreational use of Van Lake and reveal the potential it has. In order to obtain the data in the research, the previous studies performed in the field were used and observations were made. SWOT analysis of Van Lake was created from recreational point of view in the direction of obtained data. As a result of the research, it has been determined that the potential of recreational tourism in Van Lake is not adequately assessed and there are significant deficiencies in recreational areas. In the conclusion of the study, suggestions were provided to ensure the effective use and preservation of the potential.

Su kıyıları, rekreasyonel faaliyetler için çekici özelliğe sahip alanlardır. Bu alanlarda gerçekleştirilen rekreasyon faaliyetlerinin değerlendirilmesi ve rekreasyonel potansiyelin ortaya konulması, bu amaç doğrultusunda kullanılan alanın geleceği için oldukça önemlidir. Bu araştırmada, Van Gölü'nün, rekreasyonel kullanım durumunun ve sahip olduğu potansiyelin ortaya konulması amaçlanmaktadır. Araştırma kapsamında veri elde etmek için, daha önce alanda gerçekleştirilmiş çalışmalardan yararlanılmış ve gözlemler yapılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda rekreasyonel kapsamda Van Gölü’nün SWOT analizi oluşturulmuştur. Araştırma sonucunda, Van Gölü’nün rekreasyonel turizm potansiyelinin yeterli ölçüde değerlendirilmediği ve rekreasyonel alanlarda önemli eksiklikler olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonuç kısmında mevcut potansiyelin etkin kullanılmasını ve korunmasını sağlayacak öneriler sunulmuştur.
