MATHEMATICS TEACHERS' OPINIONS ABOUT STUDENT COURSE BOOK

Abstract
In this study it was aimed to determine mathematics teachers’ views on student coursebook. For this purpose qualitative research method which is one of the research methods was used. The study wascarried out within the scope of the special case study. The interview technique was used as data collectioninstrument. In this context validity analysis were made and a semi-structured interview form consisting of 5questions was prepared by the researcher. 15 elementary school mathematics teachers constitute the sample groupwho has been teaching in different parts of Turkey, NVIVO software was used to analyze the interviews. Accordingto the results of analysis, the vast majority of teachers have the opinion that the textbook is inadequate in terms ofsample questions. Therefore it has reported that teachers benefit from different supportive sources except coursebooks.
Özet
Bu araştırmada matematik öğretmenlerinin öğrenci ders kitabı hakkındaki görüşlerininbelirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla bilimsel araştırma yöntemlerinden nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır.Çalışma özel durum çalışması kapsamında gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veri toplama aracı olarak görüşme tekniğikullanılmıştır. Bu kapsamda araştırmacı tarafından, geçerlik çalışması yapılmış 5 sorudan oluşan yarıyapılandırılmış mülakat formu hazırlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini Türkiye'nin çeşitli illerinde öğretmenlikyapan 15 ilköğretim matematik öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Mülakatlardan elde edilen verilerinin analizinde,NVIVO programı kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre öğretmenlerin büyük çoğunluğu ders kitaplarının örneksoru bakımından yetersiz olduğunu söylemişlerdir. Bu yüzden öğretmenlerin ders kitapları dışında yardımcıkaynaklardan yararlandıkları raporlanmıştır.
