A BIBLIOGRAPHY EXPERIMENT RELATED TO THE HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT OF TURKISH TEACHING

TÜRKÇE ÖĞRETİMİNİN TARİHSEL GELİŞİMİYLE İLGİLİ BİR KAYNAKÇA DENEMESİ

Abstract

To point out the importance and the linguistic qualities of Turkish, which is one of the most prevalent languages in the world, it is essential to know the stages about its historical development. Therefore, it is vital to examine the historical development of Turkish, and the way it used to be taught in different generations. Therefore in this study aims to identify the scientific works about the historical development of the teaching of Turkish language and to create a bibliography. In this study adopts a qualitative approach and uses document analysis as a data analysis method. The scientific works which had been classified as the data sources were categorized and investigated separately. This study focuses on the academic works which discuss the historical development of the teaching of Turkish language. Following the research process, electronic journals, proceedings books, electronic databases and archives of universities such as ULAKBIM, Google Scholar, National Thesis Center, Çukurova Turcology System were scanned. As a result of the research, 136 different scientific studies have been found, 112 of which is about the history of the teaching of Turkish language, and the remaining 24 is about the teaching of Turkish as a foreign language. 55 of these studies are articles, 28 of them are books or chapters of books, 39 of them are theses, and 14 of them are proceedings. In addition, it was found that the first study which examines the historical development of the teaching of Turkish language was published in 1970; this issue wasn’t addressed adequately until 1990. Furthermore, it was observed that there has been an increase in the number of studies carried out with regard to the historical development of teaching Turkish as a foreign language after 2010.

Özet

Dünyanın en çok konuşulan dillerinden olan Türkçenin önemini ve dil bilimsel anlamdaki niteliklerini ortaya koymak için tarihsel gelişimine dair sürecin bilinmesi zorunludur. Bu nedenle, Türkçenin tarihsel gelişimi ve nesilden nesile öğretildiği incelenmelidir. Bu gerekçelerle araştırmada, Türkçe öğretiminin tarihsel gelişimine dair bilimsel çalışmaların tespit edilmesi ve bir kaynakça denemesinin oluşturulması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda araştırmada, nitel araştırma yaklaşımı benimsenmiş, veri analizinde doküman analizine başvurulmuştur. Veri kaynağı olarak belirlenen bilimsel çalışmalar tek tek incelenmiş ve kategorilere ayrılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, Türkçe öğretiminin tarihsel gelişimini konu edinen bilimsel çalışmalar oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma sonucunda, ULAKBİM, Google Akademik, Ulusal Tez Merkezi, Çukurova Türkoloji Sistemi gibi veritabanı ve arşivler, elektronik dergiler, bildiri kitapları, üniversitelerin elektronik veri tabanları taranmış ve ana dili olarak Türkçe öğretiminin tarihine yönelik 122, yabancılara Türkçe öğretiminin tarihine yönelik ise 24 toplamda ise 136 farklı bilimsel araştırma belirlenmiştir. Bu çalışmalardan 55’inin makale, 28’inin kitap/kitap bölümü, 39’unun tez ve 14’ünün bildiri türünde olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bunlarla birlikte, Türkçe öğretiminin tarihsel gelişimi ile ilgili ilk çalışmanın 1970 yılında yayınlanan bir makale olduğu, 1990 yılına kadar bu konunun çok incelenmediği, 2010 yılından sonra konuyla ilgili araştırmaların daha önceki dönemlere göre artış gösterdiği ve yabancılara Türkçe öğretiminin tarihsel gelişiminin son dönemlerde daha fazla çalışıldığı görülmüştür.
