Suggestion of Domain Expertise in Tourism Guidance: Health Tourism Guidance

Abstract
Purpose and Importance: this study focuses on the education of field specialist in addition to basic education for tour guiding. It aims to discuss health tourism guidance which keeps developing and will keep developing in the future. It is considered that the employment of specialist health tourist guides within the scope of health tourism is an important issue that supports the effort to increase the quality and service quality of the country and the sector.Methodology: The descriptive research method, which is considered to be suitable for the purpose and basic questions of the research, was used.Findings: As a result of the study, it is seen that the courses which are thought to be compatible with the guidance of health tourism are limited, and that the current courses have a wide range of first aid and basic health information. At the same time, the course on Health Tourism is included in the tourism guidance curriculum of only three universities. Originality/Value: The subject of specialization in professional tourist guidance education is a new issue. In the literature, no studies on the subject of health tourism guidance have been reached. It is thought that this study will make a significant contribution to the subject and awareness about the health tourism guidance.
Özet
Çalışmanın Amacı ve Önemi: Bu çalışma sağlık turizmi için turist rehberliği mesleğinde uzmanlaşma konusuna odaklanmaktadır. Bu kapsamda giderek gelişen ve ileride daha da yaygınlaşacağı düşünülen sağlık turizmi için sağlık turizmi rehberliğini tartışmaya açmayı amaçlamaktadır. Sağlık turizmi kapsamında uzman sağlık turisti rehberlerinin istihdam edilmesinin ülke ve sektör açısından konuya verilen önemi ve hizmet kalitesinin arttırılma çabasını destekleyen önemli bir konu olduğu düşünülmektedir. Çalışmanın Yöntemi: Araştırmanın amacı ve temel soruları için uygun olduğu düşünülen betimsel araştırma yöntemlerinden tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Araştırma sonucunda sağlık turizmi rehberliği ile uyumlu olduğu düşünülen derslerin kısıtlı olduğu, mevcut derslerin ilkyardım ve temel sağlık bilgisi kapsamlı olduğu görülmektedir. Sağlık Turizmi adındaki ders ise sadece 3 üniversitenin turizm rehberliği müfredatında yer almaktadır. Çalışmanın Özgünlüğü/ Bilimsel Katkısı: Profesyonel turist rehberliği eğitiminde uzmanlaşma konusu gündeme yeni gelen bir konudur. Literatürde konuyla ilgili yapılan çalışmaların kısıtlı olduğu, özellikle sağlık turizmi rehberliği hakkında herhangi bir çalışmaya ulaşılamamıştır. Bu çalışmanın konuyla ilgili farkındalık ve literatüre önemli bir katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.
