Relation of Financial Clarity and Environmental Quality in Turkish Economy: Empirical Application

Abstract

Along with the globalization process, world countries have gained momentumin their own economies by attaching great importance to commercial and financialliberalization applications. As a result, the existence of environmenteconomyrelation has been mentioned in recent years. In this context, theexistence of dynamic relationships between financial openness, commercialopenness, per capita income and carbon dioxide absorption (CO2) variablesusing annual data for the period 1970-2015 for Turkey investigated with theaid of VAR model. As a result of the analysis, it was revealed that 0,46% of thechange in CO2 absorption explained by financial openness, 1,04% by per capitaincome and 0,42% by trade openness.
