Abstract

In light of the fact that once China was a neighboring country of Turks, it is beneficial for us to learn from the earliest folk literature of Oghuz, an ancient tribe of Turks. The introducing of Dede Kor-kut started quite late in China. It was not until 1980s when the first introduction of Dede Korkut was written. During the first 30 years of research, we were only able to accomplish the general understan-ding of it, and the total amount of these studies is less than 30. The book was first translated to Uyghur and Kazakh languages. During the translation of Dede Korkut, the quality of translation between the Uyghur/Kazakh and Turkish language had been improved. Recently in couple of the famous universi-ties, such as Peking University, this book has been studied in aspects of folk literature and linguistic fields in some doctoral theses. In these papers the content was comprehensively studied, ultimately pushing forward the correlational researches. This is the sign of a huge development of studies on Dede Korkut in Chinese universities and academic community. The ethnic group of Salar, Uyghur, Kazakh and Kirgiz are all claiming for its ownership and are following the progress of these studies. Now there are two versions of the translation of Dede Korkut in Chinese. Its readers reached to more than 1,5 billion people, and the story of Dede Korkut now has been spreading rapidly. Under the promoting of the “One Belt and One Road” initiative, the interaction between Turkic people along the Silk Road will be strengthened, and this surely will accelerate the development of the studies on Dede Korkut. The introduction of the relevant studies in Chinese, Uyghur and Kazakh is followed by the evaluation, and the titles of those studies were translated into Turkish for a better understanding.

Çin`in “Bir kuşak, bir yol” stratejik projesi çerçevesinde, İpek Yolu güzergâhındaki Türki dilli halklar arasındaki kültürel ilişkiler gelişecek, Dede Korkut konusundaki çalışmalar yine hız ka-zanacaktır. Yazıda ilgili çalışmalar tanıtılırken kısa değerlendirme yapılmış, Çince, Uygurca, Kazakça orijinal kaynaklar Türkçeye çevrilerek gösterilmiştir.
