AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE AGGRESSION LEVELS OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN TERMS OF PERCEIVED SOCIAL SUPPPORT AND SUBJECTIVE WELL-BEING

Abstract
This study was conducted to investigate the agression levels of high school students in terms of perceived social support and subjective well-being. The research was carried out on totally 548 high school students, 293 female and 255 male, who study at various Anatolian high schools in Niğde. In the research it wasused, “Agression Scale” in order to determine students agression states, “Multi-Dimensional Perceived Social Support Scale” so as to identify their perceived social support states and“Subjective Well-Being Scale” to determine their subjective well-being situations. The data obtained in there search was analysed by using correlation technique and regression analysis. As a result of the resarch, it was determined that there was a negative directed relation between agression with perceived social support and subjective well-being. Moreover, it also concluded that subjektive well-being is the predictor of agression.
Özet
Bu araştırma ortaöğretim öğrencilerinin saldırganlık düzeylerinin, algılanan sosyal destek ve öznel iyi oluş açısından incelenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırma Niğde ilindeki farklı Anadolu liselerinde öğrenim gören 293’ü kız ve 255’i erkek olmak üzere toplam 548 lise öğrencisi üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada öğrencilerin saldırganlık durumlarını belirlemek için “Saldırganlık Ölçeği”, algılanan sosyal destek durumlarını belirlemek için “Çok Boyutlu Algılanan Sosyal Destek Ölçeği” ve öznel iyi oluş durumlarını belirlemek için “Öznel İyi Oluş Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen veriler, korelasyon tekniği ve regresyon analizi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda saldırganlık ile algılanan sosyal destek ve öznel iyi oluş arasında negatif yönlü bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Ayrıca, öznel iyi oluşun saldırganlığı yordadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
