The Relation of Retail Sector Investment Strategies and Diversity with the Economic Development within the Context of New Economy: Thrace Example

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to put forward the effects of the new economy on the investment decision of the firm with a sectoral study. For this purpose, a survey was applied towards the investment decisions and activities of companies operating in the retail sector in Edirne, their approaches to the technological advances were investigated. According to the obtained results, technological advances in the sector are monitored; on the investment decisions of the firm agricultural investment regarding the geographical position of the region and due to the strategic importance, and real estate investments with low risk have gained priority. In the study, besides, demand and financing conditions were stated as the most determining factor in the investment decisions of the participants
Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, yeni ekonominin firmaların yatırım kararlarına etkisini sektörel bir çalışma ile ortaya koyabilmektir. Bu amaçla Edirne’de perakende sektöründe faaliyet gösteren firmaların yatırım kararlarına ve faaliyetlerine yönelik anket uygulanmış, teknolojik gelişmelere yönelik yaklaşımları araştırılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre sektörde teknolojik gelişmeler takip edilmekte; firmaların yatırım kararlarında bölgenin coğrafi konumuna uygun olarak ve stratejik önemi gereği tarımsal yatırımlar ile, riski düşük gayrimenkul yatırımları öncelik taşımaktadır. Çalışmada ayrıca talep ve finansman koşulları, katılımcıların yatırım kararlarında en belirleyici unsurlar olarak vurgulanmıştır
