Fotosentez Konusunda Öğrencilerin Grafiksel Becerileri ve Karşılaştıkları Güçlükler

Özet

ÖZETBu çalışmanın temel amacı, ortaokul 8. sınıf öğrencilerinin fotosentez konusundaki grafikleri çizme, okuma ve yorumlamada karşılaştıkları güçlükleri tespit etmektir. Araştırmanın örneklemini, toplam 76 ortaokul 8. sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak çoktan seçmeli 16 soru ve açık uçlu üç soru maddesinden oluşan bir test kullanılmıştır. Testten elde edilen hem nicel hem de nitel verilerle öğrencilerin grafik çizme, okuma ve yorumlama ile ilgili güçlülerinin ve yanılgıların olduğu belirlenmiştir. Öğrencilerin açık uçlu sorular kapsamında, grafik çizimlerinden literatürde daha önceden yeterince ifade edilmeyen birtakım grafik çizimleriyle ilgili yanılgılarının varlığı belirlenmiştir.

Abstract

The main purpose of this study was to reveal middle school 8th grade students’ difficulties with the graph drawing, reading and interpreting about photosynthesis topic. Sample of the study comprises of 76students at 8th grade in the middle school. A test consisting of 16 multiple-choices question items and three open-ended question items were used to collect data. The quantitative and qualitative data obtained from the test revealed that the students had difficulty and misconceptions with drawing, reading and interpreting of graphs. From the students’ drawings of graphs related to the open-ended test items, it was also determined that there were a few misconceptions about graph drawings.
