Abstract
In the second half of 20th century it has been observed that there is different processes of search with Contemporary/Alternative theatre performances, and that a need for the return to rituals has emerged. This article reveals at what point the functionality aimed to brought back again to theatre appears in Peter Brook’s -pre-intercultural and intercultural period- works with a return to rituals.

20.yüzyılın ikinci yarısında, Çağdaş/Alternatif tiyatro uygulamalarıyla birlikte farklı arayış süreçleri içine girildiği ve ritüellere bir dönüş ihtiyacı doğduğu görülmektedir. Bu makalede, Peter Brook’un -kültürlerarası öncesi ve kültürlerarası dönem- çalışmalarında, ritüellere dönüşle birlikte; tiyatroya tekrar kazandırılmak istenen işlevselliğin hangi noktalarda belirdiği ortaya konmuştur.
