Abstract
Introduction: Fear and anxiety associated with newly emerging infectious diseases may cause a conflict between nurses' professional responsibilities and their perceptions of personal safety, which may affect the caregiver role of nurses. As a matter of fact, the worsening of working conditions of nurses during epidemics causes the quality of patient care to be adversely affected.
Özet
Giriş: Yeni ortaya çıkan bulaşıcı hastalıklarla ilişkili korku ve endişe, hemşirelerin mesleki sorumlulukları ile kişisel güvenlik algıları arasında çatışmaya neden olabilmekte, bu durum hemşirelerin bakım verici rolünü etkileyebilmektedir. Nitekim hemşirelerin salgınlarda çalışma koşullarının kötüleşmesi, hasta bakım kalitesinin olumsuz yönde etkilenmesine yol açmaktadır.
