Abstract
In this paper the different meanings of the terms technic and technology are elucidated, and technology as a cultural phenomenon is investigated in relation to other cultural phenomenon such as economy, science, politics and so on. It is also argued that technology is not just an independent variable, on the contrary it can become functional only within certain political and ideological preferences and goals.

Bu yazıda, teknik ve teknoloji terimlerinin farklı anlamları açıklanmakta ve teknoloji; bir kültür fenomeni olarak , ekonomi, bilim, politika, vb gibi başka kültür fenomenleri ile ilişkileri bakımından incelenmektedir. Ayrıca, teknolojinin tek başına bağımsız bir değişken olmayıp, tam tersine gittikçe ve sadece bazı politik ve ideolojik tercihler ve amaçların aracı haline geldiği de savunulmaktadır.
