An Innovative Concept in the Economy: Cognitive Social Capital

Abstract

Cognitive social capital is associated with intangible elements such as common values, norms of reciprocity, trust, attitudes, perceptions and beliefs. Cognitive social capital examines the quality of capabilities which prepare the people for collective action. It also explores the potential for establishing relations based on mutual trust in social, political and economic relations. Thus, it enables people and societies to perceive their reality better and not to be detached from the realities of the world. On the other hand, cognitive social capital states that potential sources of the community can turn into economic opportunities through effective functioning networks. The presents study deals with social capital both in micro and macro terms and explains that ideal concept of social capital may occur through cognitive social capital.

Özet

Bilişsel sosyal sermaye ortak değerler, karşılıklılık normları, güven, algılar, tutumlar ve inançlar gibi maddi olmayan unsurlarla ilişkilidir. Bilişsel sosyal sermaye insanları kolektif eyleme hazırlayan yeteneklerin kalitesini incelemektedir. Aynı zamanda sosyal, politik ve ekonomik ilişkilerde karşılıklı güvene dayalı ilişkiler oluşturma potansiyelini de araştırmaktadır. Böylelikle insanlara ve toplumlara kendi gerçekliklerini daha iyi algılamalarını sağlayarak dünya gerçeklerinden de kopmama durumunu anlatmaktadır. Diğer taraftan bilişsel sosyal sermaye toplumda var olan potansiyel kaynakların etkin işleyen ağlar sayesinde ekonomide fırsatlara dönüşebileceğini de belirtmektedir. Bu çalışmada sosyal sermaye konusu hem mikro hem de makro açıdan işlenerek ideal bir sosyal sermaye anlayışının bilişsel sosyal sermaye sayesinde ortaya çıkabileceği açıklanmaktadır.
