APPLICABILITY OF EMPOWERMENT IN TURKISH INSURANCE SECTOR

Abstract
In this study examined empowerment, which is a modern management concept and its applicability to insurance companies have been investigated empiricaly. A field study was conducted involving 12 insurance companies that are different scale size. Data collected from the survey were analyzed using parametric and non-parametric statistical techniques. Results show the existence of common empowerment factors from perspective of managers and employees. Therefore can be said that a favorable environment for empowerment in the insurance companies. However, hypothesis testing shows that partially protects the presence of the traditional organization approach.
Özet
Çalışmada çağdaş bir yönetim anlayışı olan personel güçlendirme incelenmiş ve sigorta şirketlerine uygulanabilirliği deneysel olarak araştırılmıştır. Farklı ölçek büyüklüklerindeki 12 sigorta şirketini kapsayan bir saha araştırması yapılmıştır. Anketlerle derlenen veriler parametrik ve parametrik olmayan istatistik teknikleriyle analiz edilmiştir. Ulaşılan bulgular çalışanlar ve yöneticiler açısından ortak güçlendirme unsurlarının varlığını göstermektedir. Bu nedenle sigorta şirketlerinde personel güçlendirme için elverişli bir ortam olduğu söylenebilir. Ancak hipotez testleri geleneksel örgüt anlayışının kısmen de varlığını koruduğunu göstermektedir.
