The Change and Transformation Process of the Karaman Urban Structure Until the Republic Period

Abstract

So far, many studies have been conducted by researchers on the history of Karaman city. These are rather studies that produce a socio-economic and cultural inventory of the periodic City based on historical data. However, there are no studies that will reveal the history of city development and the transformation in the historical process that will occur using many disciplines. In this study, the physical development of the city from the establishment of the city of Karaman with its old name and the current name of Larende to the history of the Republic, the elements that make up this physical formation, their periodic changes and transformations will be illuminated. Spatial development and transformation of the city were illuminated, focusing on the paradigms and parameters that make up it.

Özet

Araştırmacılar tarafından şimdiye kadar Karaman şehir tarihine dair birçok çalışma yapılmıştır. Bunlar, daha ziyade tarihî verilere dayalı dönemsel şehrin sosyoekonomik ve kültürel envanterini çıkaran çalışmalaradır. Hâlbuki birçok disiplini kullanarak ortaya çıkacak olan şehir gelişim tarihi ve tarihsel süreçteki dönüşümü ortaya koyacak çalışmalar bulunmamaktadır. İşte bu çalışmada eski adı ile Lârende şimdiki adı ile Karaman şehrinin kuruluşundan Cumhuriyet tarihine kadar şehrin fiziksel gelişimi, bu fiziksel şekillenmeyi oluşturan ögeler, bunların dönemsel değişim ve dönüşümleri aydınlatılacaktır. Şehrin mekânsal gelişim ve dönüşümü aydınlatılırken bunu oluşturan paradigma ve parametreler üzerinde durulmuştur.
