Views of School Principals about the Candidate Teachers Training Process

Abstract

The purpose of this study is evaluate the current candidate teacher training process with the views of school heads. The universe of the study that used simple random model consists of 33 school heads working at primary schools in the central district of Elazığ in the 2016-2017 academic years. To collect data prepared in three open-ended questions are asked to obtain school heads opinion. In the analysis of the data obtained, the content analysis methods used in the analysis of qualitative research has been applied and grouping according to similarity of expression and themes were developed. The opinion of the school heads, who draw attention to each theme are directly reflected in the quotations. According to the results obtained from the opinions of the school administrators at the end of the research, the head of school mostly expressed the opinion that the currently candidate teaching process being implemented is necessary. In addition, school administrators who believe in the necessity of candidate teachers suggested that internship with senior teacher, internship in all regions, in-service training. Most of the school administrators expressed their view that this process was not carried out properly about teachers as advisor. School administrators expressing the opinion that the advisor teacher selection is not being carried out appropriately suggested that experienced counselors, successful counselors, and objective counselors.

Özet

Bu araştırmanın amacı, uygulanmakta olan aday öğretmen yetiştirme sürecini, okul yöneticilerinin bakış açıları ile değerlendirmektir. Tesadüfü küme örnekleme modeli kullanılarak oluşturulan çalışmanın örneklemini, 2016-2017 eğitim öğretim yılında, Elazığ ili merkez ilçede bulunan ilkokullarda görev yapan 33 okul yöneticisi oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplamak için hazırlanan iki adet açık uçlu soru, görüşleri alınmak üzere okul yöneticilerine sorulmuştur. Elde edilen verilerin analizinde nitel araştırmaları çözümlemede olgu bilim deseni uygulanmış ve ifadelerin benzerliğine göre gruplandırmalar yapılarak temalar oluşturulmuştur. Her bir temada dikkat çeken yönetici görüşleri doğrudan alıntılarla yansıtılmıştır. Araştırma sonunda okul yöneticilerinin görüşlerinden elde edilen sonuçlara göre, yöneticiler çoğunlukla uygulanmakta olan aday öğretmenlik sürecinin gerekli olduğuna yönelik görüş bildirmişlerdir. Ayrıca aday öğretmenliğin gerekliliğine inanan okul yöneticileri, kıdemli öğretmen ile staj, tüm bölgelerde staj, hizmet içi eğitim şeklinde önerilerde bulunmuştur. Danışman öğretmenlerin seçimine yönelik ise, yöneticilerin büyük çoğunluğu bu sürecin uygun yürütülmediğine yönelik görüş ifade etmişlerdir. Danışman öğretmen seçiminin uygun yürütülmediğine yönelik görüş ifade eden okul yöneticileri, deneyimli danışman, başarılı danışman, objektif seçim şeklinde danışman öğretmen seçimi ile alakalı önerilerde bulunmuştur.
