STUDY OF ENERGY CONSUPTION ACCORDING TO REMOVAL OF POLLUTION IN THE WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANT

Abstract
In this study, consumed electric energy with values of influent and effluent water quality parameters and unit energy consumption analysis of a wastewater treatment plant was made. COD, BOD5 and TSS values in the raw wastewater and effluent along with unit based energy consumption of Kocaeli Plajyolu Wastewater Treatment Plant were observed. According to this data COD-Energy Consumption, BOD5-Energy Consumption and TSS-Energy Consumption relations were set. 78% COD, 95% BOD5 and 90% TSS removal efficiencies were observed during the observation period. According the calculated energy consumption per pollutant removed values, from the observed parameters, show a regular decrease.
Özet
Bu çalışmada, kentsel atıksu artıma tesisinde tüketilen elektrik enerjisi ile tesisin giriş ve çıkışında kirlilik parametrelerine bakılarak, tesisin birim enerji tüketimi analizi yapılmıştır. Kocaeli Plajyolu Kentsel Atıksu Arıtma Tesisi’nde tesisin giriş ve çıkışında bir aylık süre ile KOI, BOI5, AKM değerleri ve enerji sarfiyatı ölçülmüştür. Bu veriler ile kirlilik giderimine bağlı olarak tesisin KOI-Enerji, BOI5-Enerji, AKM-Enerji ilişkileri incelenmiştir. Tesiste %78 KOI, % 95 BOI5 ve % 90 AKM gideriminin sağlandığı tespit edilmiştir. Yapılan hesaplamalara göre tesiste giderilen yük arttıkça birim enerji tüketiminin azaldığı görülmüştür.
