Determining the optimum location of an automotive facility through AHP and TOPSIS methods

AHP ve TOPSİS yöntemleri ile otomotiv plazasının en uygun tesis yeri seçimi kararının verilmesi

Abstract

Decision-makers make a reliable choice whilst they are under many uncertainties and jeopardies. This study is an example of the utilization of academic studies to a real-life case. One of Turkey's best-selling automotive brand is the decision maker for the choice of a plaza location in a city located in South Marmara region of Turkey. The problem is to make a choice about the right decision for the land on which the dealership investment will be made. In conclusion of this study, all results are going to be shared with the decision- makers by availing mathematical technics (AHP and TOPSIS) and after these, some sort of support is going to be presented to help an accurate decision. Alternatives which are going to be chosen to display the land might be invested with its unique features when the facility is at the point of being built. As a result, our problems which have five options and nine alternatives in their counting has been shared with the executives of a decision-maker company and has been directed to these executives on the purpose of achievement.

Özet

Karar verme olgusu, karar vericilerin belirli riskler ve belirsizlikler altındayken uygun olan seçimi yapmasıdır. Literatürde birçok örneği bulunan; şirketlerin sürdürülebilir başarısı için akademik çalışmalardan faydalanılmasının bir örneği olan bu çalışmada Türkiye’nin en çok satılan markalarından birinin, Güney Marmara bölgesinde bulunan bir ilimiz için yapılacak olan bayilik yatırımının yeri için doğru kararın verilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu doğrultuda bir otomotiv plazasının en uygun tesis yeri seçiminin öneminden ve bu seçim için gerekli olan yöntemlerden bahsedilecektir. Çalışmanın sonucunda matematiksel yöntemlerden (AHP ve TOPSIS) faydalanılarak ulaşılan sonuçlar karar vericilerle paylaşılacak ve doğru karar verilmesi açısından destek alınacaktır. Tesis kurulmak üzere seçim yapılacak alternatifler gerçek özellikleriyle yatırım yapılacak arsaları göstermektedir. Çalışmamız gerçek bir şirketin yatırım kararında sayısal yöntemlerden yararlanılmasıyla literatüre katkı sağlamayı hedeflemektedir. Sonuç olarak 5 kriterli ve 9 alternatifli olan problemimizin hesaplamalarının çıktıları karar verici şirket yöneticileri ile paylaşılmış ve yatırımın başarısı açısından onlara yönlendirilmiştir.
