Abstract

One of the idioms used in the Köl Tigin and Kül İč Čor is oplayu tägmäk. Until now, researchers have proposed different origins and explanations for this idiom. We think that the verb opla- came from Mongolian stem ob. The opla- has denominal verbal suffix {+lA-} that is common in Turkish and Mongolian. It is known ‘Turan Tactic/Bozqır Tactic’ as war strategy in Old Turkic history.
