Abstract
In this study, with the help of bibliometric analysis, state of affairs and trends have been tried to be determined for gastronomic event studies within the framework of event tourism. For this purpose, from 1975 to 2019, 6 different keywords were searched in the Web of Science Core Collection database. Bibliographic information of 420 articles obtained as a result of scans were used. Studies have been examined in terms of publication and citation numbers, concept and subject orientations, country collaborations and common citation networks by years. According to the results of the analysis, it can be said that interest in the field has increased dramatically after 2008 in terms of both publication and citation numbers. It has been found that the US plays a key role in the country's cooperation and the most cited journal was Journal of Business Research and the study was found to be “Festivalscapes and Patrons' Emotions, Satisfaction, and Loyalty” by Lee, Yong-Ki et al. In addition, the theme of gastronomic activity has been strongly linked to behavioral intention, motivation, tourism, festival and experience. It was also found that placemaking is a subject to be researched.
