Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the anthropometric and somatotype characteristics and some performance characteristics of boys who practice regular football in Bingöl. In the study 18 male football players with a mean age of 12,66+1,45 years participated in Bingöl. In order to determine somatotype characteristics of athletes, triceps skinfold thickness, biceps skinfold thickness, subscapula skinfold thickness, drug skinfold thickness, calf skinfold thickness, biceps circumference, calf circumference, elbow width, knee width measurements were performed. Vertical jump, standing long jump, 20 m speed, sitting ball throwing, shuttle running tests were performed as performance characteristics. SPSS 22.0 program was used for data analysis. Arithmetic mean and standard deviation of the data were calculated. The mean body weight of 18 male children who participated in the study was found to be 37,60±7,39 kg and mean length length was 145,39±8,17 cm. performance values; The average vertical jump values of 23,12±5,05 cm, standing long jump average values of 137,62±13,87 cm, 20m speed average values of 4,14±0,29 sec, mean values of sitting throwing are 153,27+41,23 cm and shuttle run test average values are 29,48+1,30. In addition, the mean values of somatotype components of children were found to be endomorphic 3,18±,1,42 mesomorphic 3,07±1,39 ectomorphic 4,59±,1,24. Boys’ football players were found to be in balanced ectomorph region according to somatotype components. Long-term regular exercise leads to a change in morphological structure, but it can be said that it does not cause a change in the somatotype structure of child footballers in the process of growth and development.
