EVALUATION OF KIRKLARELI POYRALI WEAVING WITHIN THE SCOPE OF SUSTAINABILITY

Abstract

Traditional Turkish Textile Arts, which develop and change in the life cycle, continues to exist as one of the cornerstones of cultural values. As it is formed, it gives an idea about all the value judgments of the society in which it is located and provides the formation of cultural identity awareness by connecting with the past. Traditional weavings, which we can see in almost every region of Anatolia, are the most important elements of this cultural heritage. “Kırklareli Poyralı Weavings”, evaluated within the scope of the research, are one of the rare examples that carry the traces of many experiences under the influence of the geography in which they emerged, have developed the feature of being themselves and have struggled for existence. However, the factors that emerged with the change of lifestyles showed negative reflections on the continuity of weaving over time and caused it to take its place among the values that were on the verge of being forgotten. In the research carried out with the aim of contributing to the continuity of Kırklareli Poyralı Weaving; “Can we contribute to the sustainability of weaving by creating a literature and transferring cultural heritage?” problematic was considered as the research problem. The method of the research was determined as qualitative research with scanning model, and a field study was conducted for the examination of the fabric. In line with the data obtained; the technique, equipment, embellishment-motif, composition, color features and application methods of Kırklareli Poyralı Weavings were explained and the tag of the weaving was created. Suggestions have been developed on the protection of cultural heritage, the management of this protection within the scope of the concept of sustainability and the determination of the ways to be followed. Emphasis was placed on the necessity of keeping weaving alive, that is, incorporating it into our daily lives, adding an economic dimension and moving these phenomena to future generations.

Özet

Yaşam döngüsü içinde gelişim ve değişim gösteren Geleneksel Türk Tekstil Sanatları, kültürel değerlerin temel taşlarından biri olarak varlığını sürdürmektedir. Oluşturulması itibariyle bulunduğu toplumun tüm değer yargıları hakkında fikir vermekte ve geçmişle bağ kurarak kültürel kimlik bilincinin oluşmasını sağlamaktadır. Anadolu’nun hemen her yöresinde görebileceğimiz geleneksel dokumalar, bu kültürel mirasın en önemli öğeleridir. Araştırma kapsamında değerlendirilen “Kırklareli Poyralı Dokumaları”, ortaya çıktığı coğrafyanın etkisiyle birçok yaşanmışlığın izlerini taşıyan, kendi olma özelliğini geliştirmiş ve var olma mücadelesini yürütmüş nadir örneklerden biridir. Fakat yaşayış biçimlerinin değişmesi ile birlikte ortaya çıkan faktörler zamanla dokumanın devamlılığı esasında olumsuz yansımalar göstermiş ve unutulmaya yüz tutmuş değerler arasında yerini almasına sebep olmuştur. Kırklareli Poyralı dokumasının devamlılığına katkı sağlamak amacı ile yürütülen araştırmada; “dokumanın literatürünü oluşturarak ve kültürel miras aktarımını gerçekleştirerek sürdürülebilirliğine katkı sağlanabilir mi?” sorunsalı, araştırmanın problemi olarak ele alınmıştır. Araştırmanın yöntemi, tarama modelli nitel araştırma olarak belirlenmiş, dokumanın incelenmesine yönelik saha çalışması yapılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda; Kırklareli Poyralı dokumalarının teknik, araç-gereç, desen-motif, kompozisyon, renk özellikleri, uygulama yöntemleri açıklanmış ve dokumanın künyesi oluşturulmuştur. Kültürel mirasın korunması, bu korumanın yönetilmesinin sürdürülebilirlik kavramı kapsamında ele alınması ve izlenilecek yolların belirlenmesi hakkında öneriler geliştirilmiştir. Dokumacılığı yaşatma yani günlük hayatımıza dâhil etme, ekonomik bir boyut kazandırma ve gelecek nesillere bu olguları taşıma amacıyla hareket edilmesi gerekliliğine vurgu yapılmıştır.
