HAYDAR ERGULEN’S SAD CATS GHAZALS

Abstract

Haydar Ergülen, who includes ghazals in many of his books, builds his poetry by enriching it with traditional elements. The poems in the Ghazals section of Haydar Ergülen’s book, Üzgün Kediler Gazeli (Sad Cats Ghazal), have the characteristics of the ghazal type in terms of form and content. Carrying the sound of Divan poetry to the present, Ergülen reinterprets the tradition by modernizing it in his ghazals.
