Although the modern medicine has been progressed sofast in the last years, the communities stilI have te traditionalbeliefs and practices. The traditional beliefs and practices aremainly origined from the wiIIingness of the community tocontrol their own environment, wealth, health and lives.Traditional beliefs and practices may have positive andnegative effects on the health. Health service providers shouldbe awere on the traditional beliefs and practices in thecommunity. The community should be convinced to quitespecially the harmful traditional practices in their daily lives.But, the community can be encouraged to keep the traditionalpractices which effects positively the health by the healthsector.In this artiele, it is tried to define some traditionalpractices and their beliefs under the traditional practices whichare effecting children health in some parts of Turkey.
