Abstract
Ii is knowîî thaî, îhe îongshore bar whîch is one of the most imporîanîcharacterisîıcs of the shore prof iîe has more effecîs on dynamıc stability of îhe shore. Theobservafions by some researchers have shown thal this shore formation caiises to hreakthe wave and dıssipate the wave energy. lî is kno\vn that, the waves deform cmd changetheır characleristics because ofshore bathimetıy. {t could be saıd Ihat the longshore barcauses îo reflecî the wave and effects the wave characteristics. Wıth these basic prindples,ihe effects of ihe longshore bar on the waves are invesügated through îaboratoryexperimems. The results of thıs stucty are given belov. Accordmg to the size of thelongshore bar consîderable amounî of wave reflecîs, the reflected waves ha\^e effects onthe offshore vaves, accordıng to the size of the longshore bar different changes aredeîermmed on the characterisîics ofoffshore waves.
