Investigation of the Assessment and Evaluatıon Methods Used in Primary School in Accordance with Teachers' Opinions

İlkokulda Kullanılan Ölçme Değerlendirme Yöntemlerinin Öğretmen Görüşleri Doğrultusunda İncelenmesi

Abstract

One of the indispensable parts of the education process is measurement and assessment. Teachers use different techniques to measure and evaluate students' achievements. This research was carried out in order to compare the measurement and evaluation methods preferred by the teachers based on the opinions of teachers. The population of the research consists of teachers working in Tarsus District of Mersin. The research was designed in a qualitative research design. In the study, interview technique was preferred as data collection method. According to the findings of the research, teachers actively use both traditional and alternative assessment methods. However, predominantly conventional methods are preferred. While the most preferred traditional methods were multiple-choice test and true-false questions, the most preferred alternative methods were determined as performance and project assignment.

Özet

Eğitim öğretim sürecinin vazgeçilmez unsurlarından birisi de ölçme değerlendirmedir. Öğretmenler öğrencilerin kazanımlarını ölçmek ve değerlendirmek amacıyla farklı yöntemler kullanırlar. Bu araştırma, öğretmen görüşlerini esas alarak öğretmenlerin tercih ettikleri ölçme değerlendirme yöntemlerini karşılaştırmak amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Çalışma Mersin’in Tarsus İlçesinde görev yapan öğretmenlerden oluşmaktadır ve nitel araştırma deseninde tasarlanmıştır. Çalışmada veri toplama yöntemi olarak görüşme tekniği tercih edilmiştir. Araştırma bulgularına göre, öğretmenler hem geleneksel hem de alternatif ölçme değerlendirme yöntemlerini aktif bir şekilde kullanmaktadır. Ancak ağırlıklı olarak geleneksel yöntemler tercih edilmektedir. En çok tercih edilen geleneksel yöntemler çoktan seçmeli test ve doğru yanlış soruları iken en çok tercih edilen alternatif yöntemler performans ve proje ödevi olarak belirlenmiştir.
