Abstract

Utopias are the literary expression of the ideal form of society. In this respect utopias are both a literary genre and a form of thought. Modern utopian thought began with Thomas More. Then it spreaded to different lands. The utopian tradition in Turkish literature emerged after the 19th century. Mustafa Nazim Erzurumi's "Rüyada Terakki (Progress in the Dream)" is the continuation of the utopian tradition. The aim of this study is to examine little known of this work. The study also aims to examine the social conditions of the period in which the work was written. This study aims to use some concepts such as education, population in Foucault's analysis of power. Thus, the relation between utopia and biopolitics will be revealed.

Ütopyacı düşünce modern anlamda Thomas More ile başlamıştır.
